For more than 150 years we have been producing and developing high-quality glass beads and for more than 10 years beads made from ceramics. Our quality management, based on DIN ISO 9001, proved itself years ago.
Ceramic or glass beads for blasting refine metal building components. We distinguish however between the classic shot blasting for cleaning and the shot peening for increasing the residual stress on the surface of a component.
Other than that glass beads are used to mechanically coat /plate zinc onto metallic parts such as nails /screws. This coating process is generally called mechanical plating.
Silibeads Glass and Ceramic Beads have the following advantages:
- high roundness, if required > 90% for a smooth and flawless surface
- insignificant air inclusions for break- and trouble free blasting
- high specific weight of 6,0kg/ltr. for Silibeads Type ZY for highest possible intensity during shot peening
- highest possible intensity during shot peening
- high hardness of SiLibeads Type ZY and Z in order to reach the required residual stress
- narrow and precise distribution of beads for a precise application, even with toothed building components
- SiLibeads Type Z and ZY are inert for a contamination free blasting
