Immaculate surface finishFor many decades, chemical polishing of glass is a known process and part of the production technology.
During the 1970s and 80s, Sili practiced acid polishing on an industrial level. The acid polishing process brought out a mirror finish in all glass beads of types S and H. During the 1990s, the process was switched to the more environmentally friendly mechanical surface treatment of glass. Since, all glass bead types S, SL, and P are produced using this process.
Not to long ago, we again started using the chemical process and hope to achieve a high gloss and immaculate surface finish. This process allows a swift and effective surface reduction. The beads receive a one of a kind shine and excellent roughness value with the Ra < 0.5 micron.
For those special applications with attention to shine and optical appearance, we are able to offer our customers such beads, which are produced by acid polishing.
