Zirconium-Aluminum oxide beads Cerium stabilized
The SiLibeads® type ZA 5.3 with a specific weight of 5.3 g/cm3 are made of cerium-stabilised zirconium alumina and are suitable for both horizontal and vertical mills as well as for other grinding systems. The grinding beads are available in a wide range of sizes. The individual standard size fractions, mostly in 0.2 mm size increments, start at 0.4 mm and end at 3.2 mm. Special sizes and special fractions are available on request.
Fields of application
In the paint and lacquer industry, the ceramic beads SiLibeads® type ZA 5.3 are suitable for grinding and dispersing lacquer and paint systems with both inorganic and organic pigments. Due to the relatively high specific weight, 5.3 g/cm3, these beads are suitable for the preparation of suspensions with a higher solid content as well as higher viscosity.
In the production of technical ceramic components, the ceramic beads SiLibeads® type ZA 5.3 can be used to optimise raw material preparation.
In plant protection, it is possible to use SiLibeads® type ZA 5.3 for dispersing fungicides, herbicides and insecticides.
In the mining and quarrying industry, SiLibeads® type ZA 5.3 ceramic beads are often used for ultra-fine grinding of rocks containing minerals and precious metals, which can significantly increase yields and reduce costs.
Quality attributes
For the ceramic beads SiLibeads® type ZA 5.3 finely ground raw materials are used. A sintering process individually adapted to this material contributes to the formation of the dense microstructure. The grinding balls have a smooth surface and high roundness and are characterised by good mechanical properties. This excellent quality and in conjunction with correct bead size choice and other parameters being matched, leads to high grinding levels and cost efficiency.
